How To Properly Maintain Coatings

BEST PRACTICE AND PRO-TIPS

So you’ve had your car freshly corrected and coated, and it feels good! A ceramic coating’s protective quality is guaranteed to last 5 years. But the gloss and depth of the color of the paint is going to need some maintenance. A strict maintenance schedule will be able keep that sheen consistently strong for months.

We highly recommend giving your coating some TLC every 30-60 days. Strengthening the ceramic coating will add years to its lifespan and reduce minimal fallout of UV rays, dirt and debris. Maintaining a ceramic coating only takes one product, no matter the approach you take: the  Gyeon Q2M Ceramic Detailer. It is a strong, SiO2 based sealant that can be applied to both wet and dry surfaces, but there are certain techniques to be executed with it.

If a wash day falls on a day that you are scheduled to maintain the coating, you can apply the Gyeon Q2M Ceramic Detailer to the vehicle by spraying it directly on the wet panels. Spray twice onto the wet surface, and use a Edgeless 300 microfiber cloth to wipe all over. Work panel by panel for an even application. Be sure to alternate which side of the towel you use every other panel, and give the entire car a final buff with the driest, most unused side.

If you apply the Gyeon Q2M Ceramic Detailer to a dry surface, it is important to make sure that the vehicle is clean first. Then spray one or two spritzes onto a Edgeless 300 microfiber cloth, and spread across the entire panel. Afterwards, come back with a dry Eagle Edgeless 600 for a final wipedown.

So as you can see, prolonging the glossiness and strength of your coating does not have to be a hassle.
